November - Principal's Message |

November - Principal's Message

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

As we look ahead to what November has in store for us here at Carseland School (besides a fresh blanket of snow), it is evident that it is going to be a busy month.  That is nothing unusual for November however! all of the busyness, we will not forget to take the time to remember and honour those who served our country.  As a school, we will take the opportunity to reflect and honour the sacrifices of all those who have served this great country in past conflicts, and who continue to work for peace today, on Friday, November 7th at 10:45 am.

I guess Mother Nature wanted throw in an element of change for us too by dumping some snow on us.  On that note, please keep in mind that unless it is bitterly cold or pouring rain, students will be expected to dress appropriately for the weather and head outside at each break. Being outdoors allows them to get rid of excess energy, enjoy some fresh air, and have some time away from the classroom.  Your help ensuring that your child comes to school dressed for the weather is greatly appreciated.

Don’t let a little snow and some cool winds stop you from heading to the school on November 17th at 7:00 pm for the School Council meeting.  All parents and guardians are welcome to attend the meeting as we work together to promote a positive learning environment that enhances the quality of our students’ education.  I would like to take a moment to recognize our school council members for everything they have done to date.  The extra time and effort they put in is greatly appreciated.

It is still possible to purchase chocolate almonds and mint chocolates for $2 each, as well as the SUTP coupon books for $20 each.  Order forms are available at the school.

All parents and guardians are encouraged to make the trek to the school on November 26th or 27th for Parent Teacher Interviews as well.  It will be a great opportunity for the kids to showcase their learning, and parents/guardians to touch base with the teachers regarding their child’s progress.

Plans for December are already underway, which include the Christmas concert on December 17th.   There will be both an afternoon and evening performance.  Please mark this date on your calendar.  More information will be sent home as the day approaches.

Below is a list of important dates, including the ones mentioned above:

November 7th – Remembrance Day Service at 10:45 am

November 12th – Sports Day

November 17th – 21st – Scholastic Book Fair

November 17th – School Council Meeting at 7:00 pm

November 21st – Report Cards go home

November 26th – Parent Teacher Interviews 3:45 – 6:45 pm

November 27th – Parent Teacher Interviews 3:45 – 6:45 pm

December 17th – Christmas Concert

The Carseland staff is looking forward to seeing you at the various activities scheduled to occur throughout the month.  Have a great November!
