It has been a great first month of school. Thank you to our many volunteers that have been in the school already, helping out with hot lunch, highway clean up, Terry Fox Run, reading with our students and School Council. You’re a huge part of the success of our school.
Every year the Alberta Education complies an Accountability Pillar report for each school. These results come from parent, teacher and student surveys given out in May and the provincial achievement tests. I am pleased by the results of our school. These results are from the hard work of our students, teachers, and parents. We have received an excellent rating in 3 of the 4 categories. The areas where we have received excellent ratings are student learning achievement, safe and caring schools and parental involvement. Ninety percent of our students are at the acceptable standard compared to the province which is at 79% and 24% of our students are in the excellent range (above 85%) compared to the provincial average at 21%. The quality of education rated by the parents, students, and teachers is at 95.4% for Carseland School.
On October 25th our teachers will be going to Strathmore for a Professional Development Day.
Thank you to all the students who raised money for the Terry Fox Foundation our school raised 1500.00 for cancer research.
Student elections will take place Wednesday October 2 with speeches and voting afterwards. It Good luck to all candidates
