With school start-up next week, there is new information regarding changes in our start-up and regular transportation routines.
If you have not done so already, please register for transportation for your child through our on-line link HERE.
As many of you are already aware, masks will be compulsory for our drivers and all Grades 4 to 12 students while on the bus. We would encourage you to have a mask for your child on the first day, but we will have options available for those who don’t have something and all students will receive a re-usable mask once they are at school.
Our buses will have different seating plans this year. Seating will be more family-centered and like last year those seating plans will be established in the first weeks of school.
During the first six days of staggered start for our schools, we will still run all of our bus routes the same every day. We understand that if it is not your day, no students will get on the bus, but we will stop and wait, this helps get all our route and pick-up times worked out in that first week. Your school will provide information on which of those first days are for your children to attend.
Golden Hills will also be following increased cleaning routines for our buses:
Screening is an important part of all our processes this school year. If your child is sick with symptoms as described in the screening tool, please do not send them on the bus or take them to school. We are asking parents to screen their children every day. Please familiarize yourself with this tool and check it out here: https://www.alberta.ca/assets/documents/edc-covid-19-screening-questionaire-english.pdf
Our bus drivers have already begun to contact registered families on their routes and you should hear from your driver by the end of this week.
Have a great year !
